Fashioned from the earth, we are souls in clay form. We are made of the same minerals of the soil: 65% of our bone is crystallised mineral, the same as sedimentary rock formations. It is no wonder therefore that throughout the ages many myths and spiritual traditions have related our human origins to clay or mud, to the great truth that we are created from the earth, and will one day fold back into it…

Through this experiential clay handbuilding workshop, yoga teacher and ceramicist Lara Zilibowitz will guide you into direct relationship with the ecstatic skin of the earth as you learn to mould, shape and craft a unique vessel.

As you work with the clay, you will explore the age-old themes connecting our body to earth’s body as a means of art, meditation and spiritual inquiry. We will revel in the elemental alchemy of this exquisite medium, playing with the duality of both fluidity and form, form and formlessness.

We will allow ourselves to receive the medicine of earth’s teachings through the kinesthetic grounding and sensuality of this timeless art form. Your piece will then be fired for you to take home as an everlasting memory or your relation to the macrocosm and time spent with the women you love.
